If you’re missing a few teeth but still have some remaining, partial dentures may be a good solution for you. They can be made with an acrylic plastic or metal cobalt chrome base. The latter generally tend to be much better tolerated, more hygienic, and more secure as a long-term denture solution. They are carefully designed to clip onto your existing natural teeth for extra support, but can easily be removed for cleaning. The metal is also designed to be as discreet as possible with a minimalist “Scandinavian” design for optimum performance, comfort and hygiene.

For your initial consultation, Catherine will carefully listen to what you want to achieve from your new smile and will discuss the best options available for your individual oral circumstances. She will then explain the process from start to finish, and show you examples of the different material options that can be used to make your denture, so you have a good understanding from the start. 

For example, there are various materials for denture plates ranging from traditional acrylic ‘all pink’ dentures, Cobalt Chrome ‘metal dentures’, flexible dentures and ‘PEEK’, which is a relatively new material in dentistry although it has been in medicine for many years. Peek is extremely bio-compatible (body-friendly), very strong (fracture resistant), neutral-tasting, AND is extra thin! Catherine will explain the advantages of the different options when you come in for your consultation.
