Invisalign is a new orthodontic system which allows you to straighten your teeth without the need to wear large unsightly metal braces.

Rather than traditional braces, Invisalign aligners are made of clear resin meaning that they should be practically invisible when they are in place. They are easily removable and as such do not interfere as much with daily life, such as eating, drinking or oral hygiene routines.

The dentist will perform as assessment of your teeth to see if this form of orthodontic treatment would be right for you and then send your details across to Invisalign. Within a few days the technicians at Invisalign will be able to show with a detailed computer model exactly how your teeth will move week by week and show how your teeth will look in their final position. This allows you to have the peace of mind of knowing how your teeth will look at the end of treatment and it is at this point adjustments can be made to ensure that you get the smile you are after.

Personalised aligners will then be made, each of these will need to be worn for two weeks before switching to the next one. This allows the teeth to move little by little, week by week. The aligners should be worn at all-times except when eating or brushing and flossing your teeth.

You will be required to go back for appointments with your dentist every 4-6 weeks so that they can continuously monitor your treatment and provide you with your next set of aligners.

If you are interested in seeing if Invisalign is right for you, call the surgery to book a consultation where our dentists will be able to provide you with a full assessment and determine which is any of our orthodontic treatments are right for you.
